I ask for a moment’s indulgence to

sit by thy side . The works that
I have in hand I will finish afterewards.
Away from the sight if thy face
my heart knows no rest nor respite,
and my work becomes an endless
toil in a shoreless sea of toil.
Today the summer has come at my
window with its sighs and murmurs;
and bees are playing minstrelsy
at the court of the flowering grove.
Now it is time to sit quite, face to face
with the, and to sing dedication of
life in this silent and overflowing leisure.

अनुमति दे दो प्रियतम तेरे पास बैठ जाऊँ कुछ क्षण
शेष हस्तगत कर्मों का पीछे कर लेंगें सम्पादन ।

वृथा अछोर कर्म सागर में श्रम करते–करते हारा
स्वेद–सिक्त नित श्रमित सुखी हो सका नहीं मन बेचारा
शान्ति तृप्ति है कहां नाथ बिन किये तुम्हारा मुख–दर्शन
अनुमति दे दो प्रियतम तेरे पास बैठ जाऊँ कुछ क्षण ॥

ऊष्णोच्छ्वास मुखर ग्रीष्मातप झांक गया है वातायन
इठलाती पुष्पिता लता पर मधुमाखी करती गायन
कैसे छोड़ूं इस क्षण तेरा प्रिय मनसायन सिंहासन
अनुमति दे दो प्रियतम तेरे पास बैठ जाऊँ कुछ क्षण ॥

यह अवकाश–मयी क्षणिका है शांति प्रीति रस उच्छलिता

बैठ समीप बहा दूं प्रियतम गीत समर्पण की सरिता
हो समीप स्थित नाथ निहारूं निर्निमेष तेरा आनन
अनुमति दे दो प्रियतम तेरे पास बैठ जाऊँ कुछ क्षण ॥
